A yogic diet is a concept that enables the body to become sattvic and grow as a person. The yogic diet consists of a few parts. Let me list them. They are :
• Actual diet
A diet consists of food and drink. Some suggestions are: a sattvic diet, pure vegetarian food, lots of vegetables and fruits, the use of millets,no milk and sugar in any form. Wheat restricted. preference for alkaline food overall.
• Quantity
Yog defines it as 2 parts food, 1 part water, and 1 part air for optimum efficiency. It is very common that our eyes and mind demand more than the body. So curtail the mind and reduce cravings and impulse eating.
• Time and frequency of eating
Ideally, two meals per day – morning before 11AM and evening before sunset. Some people may have a small snack if required midday. No more meals otherwise.
• Quality of eating
This is a very important aspect of eating. We all must smell the food, see the food, and then taste the food. We must have small mouthfuls and chew each mouthful at least 40 times to make food into a fine paste ready for digestion by the gut. Remember, the mouth is for the preparation of food for better absorption into the body.
• Drinking water
No water should be drunk before or during meals. Drink water about 45–60 minutes after the meal.
• Plan Features
