Modern Disease Diet

The era of advanced technology and the advanced level of available facilities and their effect or impact on lifestyle values and changes have given rise to modern diseases and disorders like obesity, diabetes, hypo/hyperthyroidism, PCOD/PCOS, cancer, COPD, etc. Lifestyle disorders are primarily the result of a materialistic mind set, an improper diet (mostly a sugar and salt-rich diet) and dietary patterns, a lack of exercise (a sedentary lifestyle), addictions (like alcohol drinking, smoking, mobile phones, screens, video games, etc.), uncontrolled sexual desires, untimely sleep, etc., which disturb the harmony and balance of the energy flow in the body and lead to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual problems.

Yog is the best answer to preventing and managing diseases and disorders by correcting the wrong lifestyle. The holistic approach of Yogi towards correct lifestyle, diet, attitudes, and various yogic practises helps humans balance their tridoshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), which strengthen the body and develop quality of health. The main components of Yog are Aachar (healthy activities), Vichar (healthy thoughts and healthy relationships), Aahar (healthy food), Vihar (healthy recreation), and Brahmacharya (abstinence). Yam, Niyam, Asan, Pranayam, Pratyahar, Dharana, Dhyan, and Samadhi are the eight steps leading towards moksha, the ultimate goal of life.
